SGAE and Shamusic sign agreement to support emerging music authors

The Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE) and Shamusic, a digital platform that allows emerging music creators to register their works through blockchain technology, have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of helping new musical talents to receive the royalties generated by their works and, at the same time, to promote their professional development.
In line with the new digital habits of the current generation of authors, this agreement will enable Shamusic users to register as members of SGAE, register their compositions and receive the royalties generated by the exploitation of their works such as the use of their music live, platforms and radio and television broadcasts, among others. In addition, Shamusic users who become members of SGAE will be able to access advantages such as training and professional promotion offered by the collective management organization.
In this way, SGAE ‘s collaboration with the Shamusic platform reveals itself as a modern, agile and efficient gateway to the music industry for those who are now embarking on their professional careers.
SGAE’s Director of Technology and Operational Management, José Macarro, assures that the initiative builds “bridges with the new generations of music creators, integrating technological innovation with the defense of their copyrights at a global level”.
Jesús Vargas, CEO of Shamusic, considers that this collaboration is “a key step towards a more accessible and fairer industry”, and in the easiest and most affordable way: “The author uploads his song through Shamusic and receives his certificate in a matter of minutes, and can also enjoy the advantages of belonging to SGAE”.
